Rona Ambrose helping more women run for UCP

CALGARY- Former Alberta M-P Rona Ambrose wants to help more women run for politics under the conservative banner.

She’s helped launch a non-profit group called She-Leads, which will assist women running for the United Conservatives in the next Alberta election.

Leader Jason Kenney says they don’t have quotas for women, but says he wants to do everything he can to make sure it’s a level playing field for everyone who wants to run.

The UCP has nominated four women for the next campaign, but Kenney says 65 more are contesting nominations in other constituencies.
