THEFT FROM VEHICLES, MAN ARRESTED FOR BREACHING CURFEW CONDITIONS 

Drayton Valley RCMP say on May 10 just after 8 a.m. at Clarian Place a complainant reported parking their truck in the parking lot of the apartment complex. The next morning, noted that the window had been broken and the vehicle entered.  Suspects stole a DELL laptop.

At 11:53 a.m. at the Omniplex Parking Lot a report came in of a 2009 GMC pickup was broken into while parked overnight at the Omniplex.  Items stolen include a gas detector clip, Dewalt Tool pouch with tools marked “Aliyah” in permanent marker, Mastercraft tool set, fossil purse.  Vehicle had been left unlocked.  

Just after 11 p.m. at the Poplar Ridge Trailer Court a report came in of a suspicious vehicle.  Members attended and located 19 year old Justice Crabbe, who was breaching curfew conditions.  Crabbe was arrested for breaching several court order conditions and outstanding warrants. Held for a Bail Hearing.

On May 11 just before 1:30 p.m. in the Lodgepole area SINOPEC reported a theft from wellsite.  Suspects were located burning wire on May 9 and arrested.  30 year old Faron Olson charged with break and enter to site, possession of stolen property and theft of copper wire.  Olson was held for a bail hearing and released on $1000 cash. 

At 11:13 p.m. at the Drayton Valley Swimming Pool a report was received of a 13 year old male being punched in the head.  Members attended and transported the youth to the hospital.  2 suspects, matter is still under investigation. 

DAMAGE TO VEHICLE, MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT, ASSAULT

On May 12 at 3:00 a.m. at Rotary Park while on patrol, members located female, 27 year old Ashley Snell who was in breach of her release conditions.  Snell was arrested for breaching the conditions as well as a separate Fraud offence.  A search of Snell produced a baseball bat, along with break in tools, Milwaukee Drill and mastercraft bolt cutters, knives and drug paraphernalia.  Snell was held for a Bail hearing and released on $3000 no cash. 

At 4:51 p.m. on 43 Avenue a report came in of damage to a 2017 Chev Silverado and 2007 GMC Yukon sometime overnight.  Both vehicles were keyed down the sides.  Complainant noted that there were several other vehicles with damage to them on the street as well. 

At 5:43 p.m. on 53 Avenue a report was received of a motorcycle accident, male lost control.  EMS attended and transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries. 

At 6:09 p.m. at the Greenwood Trailer Court a report of an assault, the complainant stated that they were arguing and yelling at each other prior to their being punched in the face.  Matter is still under investigation. 

INTOXICATED MALE ARRESTED, FRAUD 

On May 13 just before 3 a.m. at Carlton East a report came in that a residence was broken into between 8pm the previous night and 3:00 am – Damage to the lock, hole in the wall.  PS4 missing along with X box and jewelry.   Members attended, door had been forced open.

At 6:22 p.m. in Rocky Rapids a report of an intoxicated male walking along the road, falling over.  Members attended and located male who was sleeping on the side of the road.  Male identified as 27 year old Jacob Silva.  Silva was arrested on 3 outstanding warrants from Calgary and held for a bail hearing. 

At 8:11 p.m. at the Drayton Valley Royal Bank a report came in of a ATM fraud. Complainant reported that a male had asked them if they wanted to make $100.  Complainant was to deposit a $200 cheque and then withdraw $100.  Suspect left when they got their $100.

THEFTS, FRAUD 

On May 14 at 8:19 a.m. at All Choice Rentals a report came in that sometime over the past weekend someone entered the unsecured compound and attempted to break into a sea can, damaging the lock.  Approximately 80 feet of wire stolen.  Video surveillance being obtained.

Just after 10:00 a.m. on 44 Avenue a report came in of a DELL laptop being stolen from a parked 2015 Grey Chev Silverado.

At 10:40 a.m. in Brazeau County Cenovus Energy reported theft of 2” Teck Cable from shut in Compressor site.  Cable was cut off cable tray.  Loss estimated at approximately $30,000.

At 2:55 p.m. a fraud report came in of a Face book ad advising how to make $200 a day from home was responded to.  Banking information had been provided.  Bank froze account realizing it was a scam. 

THEFT/DAMAGE TO MOTOR VEHICLE, FRAUD 

On May 15 at 4:04 a.m. on Beckett Road a report came in of someone breaking the passenger side window of their vehicle and stole their wallet which contained their identification. 

At 7:19 a.m. on 39 Street a report of a theft of a red and black Honda crf 2501 motorcycle being stolen.  Same located in the trees by the walking path in Aspen View. 

At 8:01 a.m. on 39 Street a report of the back window being broken on a black 2006 Acura MDX sometime overnight. 

At 3:30 p.m. in Violet Grove a complainant reported that they were contacted through messenger from an unknown friend that they won $50,000, however in order to claim same, they were to purchase $1000 worth of iTunes cards.  Complainant did purchase the cards, however realized it was a scam prior to sending them.

THEFTS, ASSAULT

On May 16 at 7:07 a.m. at Big West Dodge a report was received of theft of cable from a welding truck parked at the Dealership.

At 8:27 a.m. on Madsen Avenue a complainant reported that their 2018 Chev Silverado was entered overnight.  Vehicle was unlocked.  $20 in cash and a box cutter stolen.  

At 10:16 a.m. OK Tire report came in of damage to approximately 15 vehicles that were parked in fenced compound.  Vehicles had been broken into.  Unknown if anything taken. 

At 11:02 a.m. at Cedar Manor a report came in of vehicle being entered sometime overnight and keys stolen.  

At 11:33 a.m. at Carlton East a member on patrol located a female sleeping in a vehicle.  41 year old Kimberly McLean was arrested on Outstanding warrant from Edmonton for Theft under $5000.
