Excitement building for 2018 Women of Excellence Awards
Excitement is building towards this year’s Women of Excellence Awards taking place in Red Deer next month.
As the June 6 event at the Sheraton Hotel approaches, a record-breaking 51 nominees in 11 different categories are preparing to be recognized for their exceptional contributions to the central Alberta community.
Nominated in the Athletics, Recreation and Fitness category, Janessa Marshall says she was pretty shocked when first hearing of her nomination.
“Very honoured to stand beside people like Lynne (Mulder),” admits Marshall. “Especially with women that have been doing this in the community for years and years and I feel like I’m just getting started and it’s awesome to be recognized and I’m pretty excited about it.”
