Magdalene House hosting golf tournament to raise funds and awareness of human trafficking

Red Deer’s Magdalene House Society is hoping to attract a few more participants to its fundraiser golf tournament happening next week.

Magdalene House Society assists those who have been exploited through human trafficking, be it sex, labour, marriage or organ.

Pride Society unveils two new rainbow crosswalks ahead of Pride Week

For the second year, Red Deer has a pair of vibrant rainbow crosswalks for pedestrians and motorists to enjoy downtown.

The unveiling on Thursday morning acts as a “silent kickoff” to Central Alberta Pride Week, which runs August 13 to 20.

Supervised consumption site would make community safer: Turning Point

According to a new survey, a supervised consumption site in Red Deer would not only be utilized by local drug users, but would likely reduce crime and debris in the area.
