A local man has just under two months left to serve behind bars following a pair of firearms and stolen property busts in Red Deer late last year.

The first happened Nov. 5 when Mounties searched a storage locker on 79 Street. The second bust happened Nov. 22 when officers searched a residence on 58 Avenue in Highland Green. Mounties recovered nine guns, four crossbows, ammunition and stolen property including dirt bikes, identification and electronics.

Andrew Scott Charpentier, 25, was charged with 100 counts largely relating to firearms and stolen property.

On Monday, Charpentier entered guilty pleas on three counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000, 14 counts of possession of a firearm/weapon obtained by crime, and 14 counts of careless use/storage of a firearm. He was sentenced to 230 days in jail minus 177 days credit for time spent in custody, leaving him with 53 days left to serve.
