Wetaskiwin RCMP recover stolen vehicles & property

WETASKIWIN- On April 10, RCMP responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint and observed a black Ford F350 leaving a rural property.

They believed the truck had been stolen.

Police along with the assistance of the General Investigation Section (GIS) attempted to stop the vehicle and a pursuit was initiated. Ultimately the pickup was stopped and 31-yeaar-old Gregory Flanagan of Wetaskiwin was arrested.

It was that the truck was stolen from Strome. 

 A search Warrant was applied for and with the assistance of The Crime Reduction Unit, Auto Theft and the GIS unit the property was searched.

A travel trailer and a flat deck trailer were recovered.

On April 13, RCMP, Crime Reduction Unit and Auto Theft conducted a search warrant at a related address from the previous day.

Additional stolen vehicle were found on the property along with well several stolen vehicle parts.

Flanagan ha been charged with the following offences:

–  Possession of stolen property over 5000 –
–  Possession of stolen property under 5000.00 X2
– Operate motor vehicle while being pursued by police
– Numerous traffic safety offences x6

His next court appearance is April 26, in Wetaskiwin.

The investigation continues into this matter continues with additional charges pending.
