Lacombe police respond to firearms complaint

Police officers responded with guns drawn to a firearms complaint in the city’s south end Monday morning.

It was just after 11 a.m. when police attended to the 4700 Block of 48th Avenue.

According to a Lacombe Police Service media release, a female was located with a small calibre rifle and taken into Police custody.

“Further investigation determined that the female who was in possession of the firearm had no criminal intent and the general public was not at risk during this incident,” the release adds.

No criminal charges are pending.
