Red Deer 2018 home starts falling behind 2017

RED DEER- CMHC is out with home start numbers for Red Deer for the month of March.

There were 12 single family and multiple unit home starts. Last March there were 15.

Through the first quarter of 2018 there have been 41 housing starts. A year ago at this time there were 52.

First quarter stats for other areas in our region have also been released.

The City of Lacombe has had 15 this year where in 2017 there was 30.

Lacombe County numbers show three starts compared to seven last year.

Red Deer County registered 23 home starts. There were only 8 at this time last year.

In Sylvan Lake home starts stand at 16. A year ago there were 21.
