Lacombe County approves capital funding for several projects

LACOMBE COUNTY- Highlights from the March 8 meeting of Lacombe County council included reserve funding approval to support the City of Lacombe’s 2018 Recreation Facilities Capital expenditures.

The Lacombe Memorial Centre will be getting $906.40, the GMAG Aquatic Center $13,195 and $3,720 is going to the GMGA Sportsplex Curling Club.

A funding approval of $32,000 will be going towards the Lacombe Regional Airport’s north taxiway project.

Council is also contributing $15,000 towards upgrades to the Eckville Community Centre.

Other business included the Parkland Regional Library (PRL) Board advising that they are appealing to member municipalities and local builders for assistance in acquiring a new headquarters building for the regional library system.
