Two people are facing charges after Lacombe Police seized what was believed to be cocaine, a shotgun, ammunition, cash and other items during a traffic stop last week.

It happened around 11:25 p.m. on February 13 when a vehicle travelling eastbound along 50 Avenue was stopped for a traffic infraction.

Police say a search of the vehicle turned up 779 grams of suspected cocaine with a street value of roughly $60,000, a 12 gauge shotgun, ammunition, cash and other items commonly associated with drug trafficking.

Michael Alexander Tymchak, 36, of Drayton Valley faces six counts, including Possession for the purpose of trafficking and Possession of a firearm while unauthorized among others.
