Stolen vehicles, stolen ID, weapons and drugs are among the many items seized by Red Deer RCMP since October 16, resulting in the arrest of a dozen people who now face multiple criminal charges.

On October 16, Mounties arrested a suspect at a south Red Deer business in possession of methamphetamine and breaching a number of court-imposed conditions and a probation order. Cory Patrick Johnson, 40 years-old, faces four counts and was due in court November 2.

On October 19, a spike belt was used to disable a minivan which refused to stop for police after allegedly driving the wrong way on 50 Street. RCMP say the suspect was taken into custody after a struggle with police on Riverside Drive and found to be in possession of cocaine and violating a number of court-imposed conditions. Dustin Charles Dumais, 26-years-old, faces 11 counts and is due in court November 6.

Also October 19, Mounties found a stolen truck in downtown Red Deer and arrested the occupant without incident. Police seized cocaine, a rifle hidden in the back seat and several knives. Michael Wayne Campbell, 32-years-old, faces 11 counts and is due in court November 3.

Finally on October 19, RCMP found a suspect wanted on outstanding warrants and in possession of ammunition and contravening several weapons and ammunition prohibitions. Steven Michael Herman, 36-years-old, faces four counts and is due in court November 3.

On October 20, Mounties on patrol downtown, found a stolen Ford Mustang which refused to stop for police and drove into the West Park nieghbourhood where the car was abandoned in an alley and the suspect taking off, attempting to get into a residence on West Park Crescent before being arrested. Christian Frank Hinse, 23-years-old, faces five counts and is due in court November 8.

On October 21, RCMP arrested a suspect after a hit and run and numerous other driving complaints regarding the same van, with the driver alleged to have pointed a knife at another driver. Mounties say the van did not stop for police and evaded multiple spike belts before stopping in a north end parking lot. Sean Michael Drosdoski, 45-years-old, faces six counts and is due in court November 7.

The first of three arrests made on October 26, includes an incident where Mounties responded to a report of a man with a gun and machete at a residence in Northwood Estates. The suspect surrendered to police without incident, where it was determined to be a dispute between several people known to each other. An imitation firearm and three machetes were seized. Brandon Kevin Wattie, 31-years-old, had all four of his charges dealt with in court on October 31.

The second incident October 26 saw RCMP arrest the driver of a stolen truck with stolen plates at a downtown gas station. Fireworks were seized by police, which were contrary to a court-imposed prohibition on the suspect possessing weapons, ammunition or explosive devices. Adam Reginald Spare, 53-years-old faces four counts and is due in court November 7.

The third incident October 26 saw Mounties approach a man in a vehicle outside a convenience store in the Johnstone Crossing neighbourhood. Police seized a stun gun, bear spray and a knife, along with heroin and other items consistent with drug trafficking. David Samuel Reid, 35-years-old, faces 10 counts and is due in court November 7.

On October 27, RCMP found a man in the Deer Park neighbourhood in breach of court-imposed conditions and in possession of heroin. Travis Patrick Meyers, 32-years-old, faces two counts and was due in court November 2.

Also October 27, Mounties found a stolen truck with a stolen plate in the areas of 40 Avenue and 50 Street, which fled into the Michener Hill neighbourhood where the truck was abandoned and the driver taking off on foot. Stolen identification was seized from the suspect. Jay Dee Coffman, 33-years-old faces seven counts and is due in court November 6.

Finally, on November 1, Mounties took a suspected shoplifter into custody at a south end business where police seized what appeared to be methamphetamine and several pieces of stolen identification. Cody Robert Letwinetz, 28-years-old, faces seven counts and was due in court the next day.

RCMP say a number of the arrests were the result of monitoring areas and prolific offenders identified through Project Pinpoint. Other arrests were made thanks to citizens reporting suspicious activity.
