Aug 21, 2017 | 10:51 AM

A 36-year-old Central Alberta woman who went on a lengthy crime spree last month is to spend some time behind bars.

Joanne Henke, who is from Ponoka, faced multiple charges including possession of stolen property, resisting a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime, theft of a motor vehicle and failing to comply with conditions. These charges span across central and southern Alberta, including Rocky Mountain House, Consort and Brooks.

Henke pleaded guilty to the two counts of failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking.

On July 27, 2017 Rocky Mountain House RCMP say in a release that they responded to a complaint of a Ford F350 on fire near Caroline. The truck was determined to have been stolen from Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Upon arrival, RCMP were unable to locate the driver who had fled into the woods. The K9 service was called in and after a brief search in the darkness, RCMP were able to apprehend the fleeing suspect.

Henke received a 90-day jail term followed by a 12 month probation order. She is to reappear in Rocky court on August 30 to be spoken to on her other charges.
