Body of missing boater recovered from Sylvan Lake

The body of a 43-year-old man who went missing after a boat was overturned on Sylvan Lake was recovered this morning.

RCMP say the recovery was made at about 9:30 a.m.

Sylvan Lake Fire Department and Sylvan Lake Victim Services Unit provided assistance and support this morning.  

An autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the Office of the Medical Examiner. 

“The Sylvan Lake RCMP would like to send their condolences to the family during this difficult time and thank all those involved in the search and recovery efforts for their assistance,” police say in a release.

A Facebook page entitled “In loving memory of Jason Groulx” was started on Sunday. Friends and family are encouraged to visit the page and leave comments, pictures and videos in his honour.

Groulx owned and operated Gasoline Alley Rat Rods.
