Lacombe Police stop 300 vehicles during weekend check stop

Lacombe Police were very busy during a check stop last weekend.

On May 19, members were out for two hours within the city. A total of 300 vehicles were stopped and checked.

The check stop resulted in:

– One seizure under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,
– Four drivers failing to produce valid vehicle insurance,
– Three offences identified under the Gaming and Liquor Act,
– One driver found to be operating a vehicle with no insurance,
– One driver failing to produce valid vehicle registration.

“Our check stops will continue to run throughout the year as part of our service’s commitment to community safety as well as continuing to be part of the Provincial Enhanced Alberta Check Stop program,” says Chief Lorne Blumhagen.
