Kings U17 volleyball squad claims silver at nationals

The Central AB Kings Volleyball Club (CAKVC) Men’s U17 team claimed the silver medal at Nationals this past weekend in Saskatoon.

Thirty-two teams competed at the tournament, with the Kings earning silver in the Tier 3 Division.

The Kings finished fourth in their pool in round-robin play after falling to the Northern Alberta Volleyball Club, Ontario Thundercats and Brandon Volleyball Club. 

In the reseeding round-robin on Saturday, the Kings finished second in their pool beating Winnipeg, East Kootenay, but losing to Kelowna. 

In the playoff round on Sunday, the Kings advanced to the final by beating the Prince George in the quarterfinal and the Ottawa Mavericks in the semifinal. 

The Kings fell to Grande Prairie in the Tier 3 final, settling for Silver.
