Bast named Top Defenceman in AMHL

Luke Bast of the Red Deer Optimist Chiefs has been named as the Alberta Midget Hockey League’s Top Defenceman.

Also named to the league’s First All-Star Team, Bast racked up 32 points and just 14 penalty minutes for the Chiefs in 34 regular season games. He added two assists in three playoff games.

The 16-year-old blueliner joined the Brooks Bandits of the AJHL for four regular seasons games after the Chiefs were eliminated from the AMHL playoffs.

Chiefs goalie Justin Travis and left wing Levi Glasman were named to the AMHL Second All-Star Team
