Red Deer County hosting Eco-Buffer and Shelterbelt Workshop

May 24, 2018 | 7:26 AM

Red Deer County and the Agroforestry & Woodlot Extension Society are pleased to announce an upcoming workshop on the benefits of eco-buffers and shelterbelts.

Participants will learn about the difference between these two concepts, the benefits of reducing wind stress on livestock and crops, trapping snow for soil moisture, and enhanced pollinator habitats, and designing their own eco-buffer or shelterbelt for their own situations.

The workshop will be held on June 20 from 5:45 PM to 8:00 PM at the Red Deer County Centre.

Deadline for registration is June 15, and space is limited. To register call Red Deer County Agricultural Services at 403.342.8654 or visit www.rdcounty.ca.
