Royals RED Winterguard team opens season with first place finish

Members of the Red Deer Royals ‘RED’ Winterguard team are celebrating a first place finish at the Calgary Stetson Show Band Alberta Winterguard Season Opener in Calgary on Sunday.

Celebrating their 50th Anniversary in 2019, officials with the Red Deer Community Band Society say they are proud to have the Red Deer Royals Marching Band and Colorguard as part of the society. 

Upcoming competitions for the Winterguard team include the Spiritus Winter Classic in Calgary on Feb. 9, Encorps Performing Arts Showcase in Calgary Feb. 10, and the CGCYEG Invitational in Edmonton Feb. 23 and Arts In Motion in Calgary Feb. 24.
