Investment forum to highlight Alberta business during 2019 Games

Business leaders are set to meet in February for the inaugural Winter’s Edge Investment Forum.

Guest speakers will offer insights and perspectives on venture investing, all with the backdrop of the 2019 Canada Winter Games.

Set to take place Feb. 20 at Red Deer’s Westerner Park Harvest Centre, the event is sponsored by a number of organizations, including The City of Red Deer, Westerner Park, CAEP, Catapult Entrepreneurs, Battle Bend Energy, and the Red Deer Regional Airport.

“In Alberta’s current economic climate, investors are looking for new ways to make their money work for them,” says Pam Steckler, Edge Chairperson. “We’re seeing a lot of amazing innovation happening in our province. The Winter’s Edge Investment Forum will showcase that and create new opportunities to move Alberta’s innovation forward.”

More than a dozen companies will also be on hand to make pitches for their ideas, creative solutions and opportunities in the following areas (and more): artificial intelligence, responsible food production science, water conservation, oil and gas tech, cannabis supply product, and real estate development.
