Councillor Wheeler elected to AUMA Board of Directors

Drayton Valley Town Councillor Fayrell Wheeler has been elected to the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) Board of Directors.

Wheeler earned the nod as Towns West Director during elections at the AUMA Conference Friday in Red Deer.

“It is very exciting to have a local Councillor representing Towns West at the provincial level,” commended Mayor Michael Doerksen, “Councillor Wheeler is dedicated to all of her many positions, and will do an amazing job ensuring the voice of towns across this province are heard.”

In her speech to AUMA delegates, Councillor Wheeler addressed the importance of innovation and collaboration with the provincial government and amongst Albertan municipalities. She assured her dedication to represent Towns West with a strong, smart, and innovative voice.

The Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) represents 85% of urban municipalities all over Alberta. The organization works to engage municipalities and develop strategic partnerships between all orders of governments in order to meet municipal needs, and provides visionary leadership, solutions-based advocacy, and service excellence.
