Sep 12, 2018 | 10:21 AM

A Red Deer County man is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference following allegations of sexual abuse perpetrated towards three children who were under his care between 2012 and 2018.

Innisfail RCMP launched an investigation on September 6 after a female youth came forward with the allegations. The Red Deer City RCMP Serious Crimes Unit assisted in the investigation. The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and Alberta Children’s Services were brought in to conduct their investigation and ensure the safety of the children involved.

The 43-year-old man was arrested on September 6 and charged with ten counts including sexual assault, sexual interference, sexual exploitation of a young person and invitation to sexual touching.

Police say the three victims in these incidents were under the age of 10 at the time of the alleged offences.  The children’s safety and well-being are being supported by caregivers and resources available through the Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre.
