Wunderful weekend for Red Deer soccer team

It was a wunderkind of a long weekend for one Red Deer soccer team.

The U17 boys Renegades were competing with other teams from across the province in the Calgary Cup tournament, winning two group games 2-0 over Medicine Hat and then 3-0 over Calgary Chinook, then tying Airdrie 1-1.

On Monday, the squad played the other group winner from Lethbridge for the gold medal, pulling out a 3-0 victory and the Calgary Cup.

Over four games, they allowed just one goal.
