Jul 20, 2018 | 3:04 PM

Thunderstorms couldn’t keep attendance from hitting 20,000 on day two of Westerner Days Fair & Exposition.

The official number was 20,706, compared to 20,940 last year.

The second day was also one for the kids, as children flocked to the fair for Tim Hortons Kids Day to enjoy attractions like the Grub Hub, presented by rdnewsNOW, and the TD Main Stage sponsored by 106.7 The Drive, where Helix, Lee Aaron and Iron Buffalo rocked on.

Reed Rosencrans took a lead in the Red Deer Motors North American Pony Chuckwagon Championships, while competitors cooked up their best chili recipes at the off-site BIG 105 and 106.7 The Drive Chili Cook-Off.
