Red Deer 2018 home starts continue to lag behind 2017

RED DEER- CMHC is out with Red Deer housing start numbers for June.

There were 21 single family/multiple unit home starts last month. That is eight fewer than in June 2017.

So far there this year there have been 84 home starts in Red Deer. At the same time last year there were 125.

Red Deer County has seen a building boom with 69 home starts fo far in 2018. That is 37 more than through the first six months of last year.

Lacombe has had 23 home starts, 21 fewer than at the same time a year ago.

Lacombe County starts stand at 13, eight less than a year ago.

Sylvan Lake has recorded 40 home starts, at this time last year there had been 49.
