28 rafters pulled from North Saskatchewan River

Twenty-eight people were rescued from the North Saskatchewan River after their rafts became stuck in trees on the river.

Rocky Mountain House RCMP were contacted around 4:15 p.m. Saturday by Rocky Mountain House Search and Rescue.

The group had been floating on the North Saskatchewan River when their rafts became stuck on some trees and they were unable to proceed off the river.

Emergency Services including police and Rocky Mountain House Search and Rescue were dispatch to help the group. They were eventually taken to land by rescue boats.
