Jun 27, 2018 | 4:21 PM

A cyclist is fortunate to be relatively unharmed after being struck by a vehicle in Red Deer on Wednesday.

RCMP say it was about 12:50 p.m. when members were called to the collision between a cyclist and a white Dodge car near the intersection of 55 Avenue and 43 Street.

The car was pulling out the parking lot facing south and struck the cyclist who was headed east on 43 Street in the bike lane.

The cyclist hit the front quarter panel of the car and did not have any observable injuries, according to RCMP. He was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons.
