Coulee road project price tag up by nearly $25,000

Jun 27, 2018 | 1:13 PM

The Coulee road slope and drainage rehabilitation project is anticipated to cost a little bit more, thanks to changes caused by heavy snowfall this past winter.

The original amount included in the 2018 budget for the project was nearly $261,000, however council learned that over the winter snowfall created a change in the amount of material needed to fix the area, resulting in an increase of $23,839.

Drayton Valley Town Council agreed to a bump in the cost at its regularly scheduled council meeting on Wednesday, with the motion passing unanimously.

The work is set to begin sometime this year, and will try to prevent further slope failure and erosion from occurring.
