The candidate to fill the NDP slot on the Drayton Valley-Devon ticket has been set, as the 2019 provincial election grows closer.

Kieran Quirke was nominated as the Alberta NDP’s candidate for Drayton Valley-Devon at a nomination meeting held in Calmar Saturday night.

In a release, Quirke says like many people in Alberta he doesn't trust Jason Kenney or the UCP, adding a choice must be made come 2019.

“Albertans have a choice to make in 2019,” he says. “They could choose Kenney who would make deep cuts regardless of who it hurts, or they can choose Rachel and the NDP, who will protect the things families depend on. I know who I would trust.”

Quirke was born and raised in Alberta and has years of experience  in the energy and social services sector, including as a CEO of an energy contracting company.
