The upcoming National Day of Mourning will be observed in Red Deer with a ceremony at Bower Ponds later this month.
The annual day falls on Monday, April 28 and ceremonies will be held across the country to recognize the National Day of Mourning for workers killed or injured on the job.
It serves as a time for reflection and a renewed commitment to improving workplace health and safety.
Locally, the event, which is put on by the Red Deer & District Labour Council, will go ahead at 11 a.m. It is often held at the Fallen Worker Tribute at Bower Ponds.
