Man arrested near Rimbey facing drug-impaired driving charges

A 49-year-old man is facing drug-impaired driving charges after his arrest by Rimbey RCMP.

On June 13, Mounties responded to an erratic driving complaint about a vehicle headed north on Highway 20 towards Rimbey.

A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was arrested for possession of marijuana. Following a test conducted by a Drug Recognition Expert, the male was re-arrested for impaired driving by drug.

Charges are pending against the male and his driver’s license has been suspended for 90 days. Additionally, his vehicle was seized as per the provisions of the Alberta Administrative License Suspension.
