Red Deer RCMP and Emergency Services team up to give blood

Members of Red Deer RCMP and Emergency Services continued their efforts in giving back to the community by donating blood on Friday.

Inspector Dean LaGrange and Fire Chief Ken McMullen were joined by colleagues, as well as Safety Bear and Sparky, in giving the gift of life at the Red Deer location of Canadian Blood Services.

The pair talked about the importance of that gift, especially ahead of the May long weekend, when motor vehicle collisions traditionally spike.

In the summer, Mounties and RDES hold a more formal blood drive and competition called Sirens for Life.
