OTTAWA- Statistics Canada says Alberta’s economy roared back to life last year — recording the biggest growth among all provinces.

The federal agency says Alberta’s gross domestic product grew by four-point-nine per cent as the province rebounded from two straight years of recession following the collapse of oil prices.

Saskatchewan also recovered from two years of recession with economic growth of two-point-nine per cent last year.

Manitoba’s economy also grew by two-point-nine per cent for its best performance since 2012.
