Clearwater County dealing with spring road conditions

ROCKY MOUNTAIN HOUSE- Winter weather extending into spring has and may continue to contribute to flooding on roadways and frozen culverts.

Spring thaw impacts County roads, ditches and culverts due to high volumes of run-off water and frost coming out of the ground.

Clearwater County’s Public Works Department is continually monitoring the roadways and are performing maintenance activities as deemed necessary.

Current maintenance activities include thawing frozen culverts, hand patching surfaced roads, including dust suppressions, and spot graveling on gravel roads.

Residents are asked to drive with caution – especially if a road is flooded.

Please contact the main County office (403-845-4444) if you notice flooding over local roadways (not private property) or frozen culverts with overflowing ditches.

The integrity of roadway infrastructure is a County priority and the public’s patience and assistance is appreciated during the spring thaw.
