Red Deer man honoured for stolen vehicles suffers heart attack, fundraising underway

Apr 19, 2018 | 11:01 AM

A GoFundMe page has been set up in support of a local man who’s helped Mounties recover more than 400 stolen vehicles.

Friends say the man known only as “DM” has suffered a heart attack at age 36 and is in need of financial help for his family.

“DM has spent many hours and time since he was a victim of the same crime,” friend Jason Hives says on the GoFundMe page. “So if you have had your vehicle stolen and recovered by DM or appreciate all that DM has done for our city please show a little support so he can be with his family and not have the financial stress that is ahead.”

On April 3, DM was recognized by Red Deer RCMP for all he’s done over the past couple of years to help them recover hundreds of stolen vehicles over the past two years.
