Only minor injuries to report after a vehicle struck a light standard in Penhold Sunday morning.

It happened shortly before 11:00 a.m. when Penhold Fire Crews responded to a parking lot where a vehicle had struck a light pole.

According to Penhold Fire Lieutenant Josh Wilson, the young male driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries, while his female passenger was not hurt.

He noted there was extensive damage to the vehicle with both front air bags deployed.

Penhold Fire Chief Jim Pendergast says firefighters helped Fortis with making sure the light stand was secure after the impact.

Crews remained on scene to clean up spilled fluids until 2:30 p.m. when the car was removed.

Three fire units and 13 firefighters responded.
