Local Mounties warn of phone scam making the rounds

Rocky Mtn. House RCMP have received a report about another scam that could potentially be circulating the area.
 
On March 1 around 11:59 a.m. RCMP received a complaint from an individual about how they received a call advising they had won money and a new vehicle.
 
The scammer asked the complainant to have a $15,000 certified cheque for them to insure the winnings.
 
The incident has been handed over to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center.
