Jun 8, 2017 | 6:19 AM

A 35-year-old man accused in a shooting incident that occured back in May of last year will spend some more time behind bars.

Maurice Redbear, who is from the Sunchild First Nation, plead guilty in Rocky court yesterday to an obstruct/resisting a police officer charge.

Rocky RCMP say on May 27, 2016, they were investigating reports of two men firing shots at a residence. During the incident another man was shot in the leg with a small-calibre bullet.

Police later found Redbear in the basement of a residence and when he was taken away by the police he gave them a false identity.

Two others were also co-accused in this matter, Bradley Redbear and Teonna Hunter, but their charges were dismissed in court back on March 27, 2017.

Redbear is to serve a 75 day jail sentence.
