The Red Deer Regional Health Foundation announced they welcomed Borouge International for a special naming recognition presentation after the company donated $250,000 to help advance healthcare for the hospital.

Formerly known as NOVA Chemicals, the event provided an opportunity to recognize Borouge International’s investment in local healthcare.

“While the name may have changed, their commitment to our community remains strong,” said Manon Therriault, Chief Executive Officer of the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation. “We are incredibly grateful for Borouge International’s generosity and proud to celebrate a partnership that will make a meaningful difference for patients and families throughout our region.”

The investment will go toward supporting innovation within diagnostic imaging, which impacts every area of patient care, including emergency and trauma, stroke diagnosis, cancer care, and inpatient services.

The Foundation says approximately 3,350 CT scans are performed each month at Red Deer Regional Hospital.

As a result, demand for diagnostic services continues to grow, and diagnostic imaging is expected to double in size in the hospital expansion.

“We have deep roots in Central Alberta, and that continues as Borouge International. Access to quality care is fundamental to a strong and thriving community, and we’re proud to play a role in shaping the future of healthcare in the region,” said Rob Thompson, Regional Head of Operations, Americas.
