Three-year sentence for Red Deer man convicted in drug trafficking investigation
Its’ three years in jail and a firearm prohibition for a Red Deer man charged in a local drug trafficking investigation.
Omar Abuelhawa, 61, was convicted on three counts of traffic controlled substance in Red Deer Court of King’s Bench on Sept. 17, 2026. Eight other charges were withdrawn.
Previously, co-accused Sone Narong, 53, also of Red Deer, had a stay of proceedings in his matters on Nov. 3, 2025.
A second co-accused, Phouthavong Khamkhay, 59, of Red Deer, saw his charges withdrawn on Nov. 4, 2024, while a third co-accused, Pakorn Narong, 54, also of Red Deer, had a stay of proceedings in his matters that same day.
