Families in Blackfalds finally got their first look inside the town’s brand-new K-4 school this week.

St. Veronica Catholic School will open in fall 2027, but folks were able to get a sneak peek during a recent community info expo.

“It was an absolute joy to meet so many enthusiastic families and community members at the expo,” said Mandy Reed, incoming school principal.

“Building a new school community from the ground up is an extraordinary opportunity. We are excited to create a faith-filled, safe, and caring school where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered.”

St. Veronica Catholic School will offer a faith-based education, with key highlights including:

  • Academic Excellence: A focus on literacy, numeracy, and strong foundational learning skills.
  • Inclusive Learning Supports: Comprehensive and supportive programs ensuring every child receives the tailored support they need to thrive.
  • Modern Community Centre: A convenient location within Blackfalds designed to foster strong connections between home, school, and parish.

“This event provided a wonderful first opportunity to connect directly with the families we look forward to serving,” added Red Deer Catholic Superintendent Dr. Rhonda Nixon.

“As Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools continues to grow alongside the vibrant community of Blackfalds, we remain dedicated to delivering exceptional Catholic education focused on academic excellence, faith formation, and supportive care for all students.”

Families and community members interested in learning more about St. Veronica Catholic School or joining the school community are encouraged to reach out via email at svcsinfo@rdcrs.ca. Registration opens in January 2027.
