Sundre-shot series ‘Eyes in the Woods’ earns 8 Rosie Award nominations

“Eight nominations is a real testament to the talent behind this production,” said the Mountain View Regional Film Office’s Allan, who is also economic development officer for the Town of Sundre.

“We’re proud that Sundre and Mountain View County played a part in bringing this story to life, and we’ll be at the Jubilee Auditorium on Nov. 7 cheering Numera Films on.”

The Rosies are presented by the Alberta Media Production Industries Association (AMPIA).

Morgan Ermter, co-owner at Numera Films, is also the creator and director of the nominated series.

Ermter says Numera is very pleased with the work AMPIA does to celebrate talent across the province, in a way that connects artists.

“The arts here are really important, and specifically arts that are about the place that we’re in. Oftentimes, big productions come here, and the mountains are starring for something in the States, or the cities,” he says.

“There’s something really special when the story is still here. I make a point when writing these things that it’s not set in Anywhere, U.S.A. or Anywhere, Canada — this is Alberta, it’s Sundre, or it’s Cochrane or Water Valley. It’s important when we tell stories here that we’re not afraid to talk about the places that they’re set.”

This series’ cast is from across Alberta, and it was filmed in several locations between Calgary, Mountain View County, Sundre and the Foothills.
