Red Deer building permit values hit $5.2 million in August

Building permit values for Red Deer were $5.3 million in August, compared to $3.6 million in August 2025.

Year-to-date values are $63.82 million, compared with $1.03 billion at this time last year — keep in mind that total included $940 million for the new patient tower at the hospital.

Notable permits in August 2026 include:

• Tenant improvements at 4320 54 Avenue, valued at $650,000
• Construction of new multi-family attached dwelling with eight units including front and rear decks and separate entrances for basement units at 6733 59 Avenue, valued at $455,000
• Construction of new single-family detached two-storey dwelling with attached garage at 46 Tenhove Street, valued at $327,000
• Interior renovations at A-5016 51 Avenue, valued at $275,000
• Construction of a new single-family detached two-storey dwelling with attached garage and undeveloped basement at 37 Tranter Street, valued at $272,000
