Aug 31, 2026 | 5:17 PM

Red Deer RCMP are reporting a total of 45 arrests made in August, mostly as part of a two-day warrant round-up.

On Aug. 26 and 27, local RCMP, with assistance from the Fugitive Apprehension Sheriff Support Team (FASST), executed 126 arrest warrants.

They note that the arrests are, generally speaking, unrelated to one another and occurred throughout the city.

At least one of the arrests noted below caused a significant police presence in the West Park area late last week. RCMP also confirmed that no shots were fired in that incident.

Significant arrests include:

37-year-old Jeffrey Hiltz, a resident of Red Deer, who was wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching the conditions of his parole. With the assistance of the Alberta RCMP Emergency Response Team (ERT) and Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services (PDS), Hiltz was located by police at a residence in the West Park neighbourhood of Red Deer. He was arrested and has been returned to custody to complete his sentence.

• Police obtained a warrant to enter a residence in the West Park neighbourhood of Red Deer, where a 17-year-old male was also arrested. The male was trying to evade police when he was found hiding in the attic.

• 20-year-old Maverick McGillivary, a resident of Red Deer, was found by Red Deer RCMP CRT, riding a bike with no lights in the middle of the road. When stopped by police, McGillivary attempted to flee from police. He was arrested without incident and was found to be in possession of an imitation firearm (BB gun) and imitation brass knuckles. McGillivary was breaching multiple conditions of his probation and release orders, and as a result has been additionally charged with the following:

  • Obstructing a peace officer
  • Carry concealed weapon (x2)
  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (x2)
  • Fail to comply with probation order (X2)
  • Fail to comply with release order

McGillivary is set to appear in court on Sept. 4.

Leading to the two-day warrant round-up, Red Deer RCMP CRT and the Alberta Sheriff FASST team made two previous significant arrests.

• On Aug. 12, 2026, 30-year-old Devyn Hendrickson, a resident of Red Deer, was arrested on a Canada-wide warrant for breaching the conditions of his parole. Hendrickson was returned to custody to complete his sentence.

• On Aug. 19, 2026, a search warrant was executed in the Glendale neighbourhood of Red Deer. 37-year-old George Adshade, a resident of Red Deer, was arrested for 10 outstanding warrants. Adshade was held for a Judicial Interim Release (JIR) hearing and remanded into custody. He is scheduled to appear in the Alberta Court of Justice in Red Deer on Sept. 3.
