CACAC and Sendero Centre to receive provincial funding to increase access to supports

The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Centre and the Sendero Centre are among the 23 organizations named by the provincial government to receive nearly $21 million in funding to increase access to supports for those impacted by sexual violence and abuse.
It’s unclear how much the two central Alberta organizations will be specifically receiving, but the government announced earlier this month that $17 million will be given to 15 sexual assault centres and $3.7 million in annual funding will be provided to eight child advocacy centres.
In addition, $3.3 million will go toward the government’s mandate commitment to increase funding for sexual assault centres by $10 million by 2028-29.
“Sexual assault centres and child advocacy centres provide critical supports for survivors across Alberta at every stage of their healing journey,” said Searle Turton, Minister of Children and Family Services. “Through these investments, we are strengthening the work of these organizations to provide specialized supports for vulnerable Albertans as they navigate some of the most challenging times of their lives.”
