Lacombe Museum to launch new exhibit dedicated to Research and Development Centre

The Lacombe Museum is inviting the public to its opening launch party for a new exhibition dedicated to the Lacombe Research and Development Centre.

The event is set for Sept. 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Flatiron Building Museum in Lacombe. Following the launch, the exhibit will remain at the museum until Nov. 15, 2026.

The exhibit titled “1907 – 2026: A Legacy in Research and Development” will document the research and development centre’s history by sharing stories and pictures of those who’ve contributed to its past.

“This is an extremely timely exhibition following Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s looming decision to close the Lacombe RDC,” the Museum wrote in a media release. “This exhibition will greatly illuminate Lacombe RDC’s place and significance in the region of Lacombe and all of Canada.”
