RDP receives $1.6 million federal grant for research in healthcare and energy innovation
Red Deer Polytechnic (RDP) has received a $1.6 million grant from the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) to support two projects at the institution.
These projects, RDP says, are of national significance, including $652,008 towards the Redefining Person-Centred Care in Rural and Regional Communities in Alberta Through Technology and Data Innovation project.
The institution says that through this research project, new health technologies, such as artificial intelligence, virtual reality, robotics and advanced diagnostic tools, will be developed.
More specifically, applied research teams will use advanced 3D printers and electronics assembly stations to create and refine diagnostic equipment designed for individual needs.
