2026 ‘Turn the Town Teal’ campaign set to launch

Aug 13, 2026 | 11:10 AM

Youth HQ is again asking the community to help ‘Turn the Town Teal.’

The campaign, which takes place during Big Brothers Big Sisters Month, is intended to open the doors for 65 local youth once all is said and done.

That number represents how many local youth are currently waiting for a mentor to step up and walk alongside them through their journey.

“Guided by the campaign message: Turn the Town Teal. Open Doors. Become the One,’ the initiative aims to make the need visible, spark meaningful community conversations, and inspire more people to support the life-changing impact of mentorship and volunteerism,” officials say.

Registration is open from Aug. 6-21, with participating businesses receiving a campaign starter kit to get ready for the launch on Sept. 1.

“Businesses are encouraged to make their displays bold, engaging, and conversation-starting by incorporating teal décor and creative representations of the number 65, helping raise awareness of the youth currently waiting for support,” they add.

“Every participating location will serve as a community hub where visitors can learn more, scan QR codes to connect with opportunities, and become part of the solution.’
