Lacombe Police Service charge youth driver after fleeing from traffic stop
The Lacombe Police Service have charged an individual youth after they fled from police over the weekend.
The youth, whose name will not be released by police, is facing charges of failing to stop for a peace officer, driving without due care or reasonable consideration for other highway users, and more.
This comes after police observed a Chevrolet Cobalt heading west on 50 Ave. on Aug. 9 at 12:35 a.m. They ran the attached license plate and determined the information available indicated the vehicle description wasn’t a match.
Lacombe police attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Range Road 271, but, the vehicle fled from police at a high rate of speed on Highway 2A towards Blackfalds.
