Conditional sentence for central Alberta man charged in shooting incident
A 16-month conditional sentence has been given to a Maskwacis, Alta, man charged in a central Alberta shooting two years ago.
Dorian O’Shea Hunter, 25, was sentenced in Wetaskiwin Court of Justice on June 22, 2026, after pleading guilty to counts of obstructing a peace officer, two counts of unauthorized possession of firearm, and alter/deface/remove serial number, and possess firearm weapon in vehicle.
He also pleaded guilty to two counts under the Traffic Safety Act (TSA), including operate unregulated motor vehicle/trailer, and drive motor vehicle-no insurance. Six other charges were withdrawn.
Hunter was also given a five-year firearm prohibition and fines totalling $2,700.
