Red Deer Highland Games and CentreFest return this weekend

It’s bound to be a busy and fun weekend in downtown Red Deer.

The 89th Red Deer Highland Games are back this Saturday, June 27 outside at Central Middle School, and just up the street will be CentreFest, which goes both Saturday and Sunday.

Details for both of these annual traditions are below.

First off, the Highland Games run 8:30-5. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for youth and seniors, and children under five get in free. Here’s the schedule as of June 23:

Then there’s the 23rd annual CentreFest, which is happening earlier in the summer due to other big events happening this summer.

At CentreFest, experience jaw-dropping acrobatics, laugh-out-loud comedy, live music, fire performances, and interactive entertainment as talented artists from across Canada and around the world transform the streets into an open-air stage, organizers say.

CentreFest is centred around Ross Street and Little Gaetz Avenue.

Here’s the schedule breakdown:

  • Friday, June 26: CentreFest Preview Show Veterans Park, Downtown Red Deer 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 27: CentreFest Festival Hours: 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 28: CentreFest Festival Hours: 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
